The 2006 Gothic Lolita Mad Tea Party

There was a table set out under a tree in front of the house, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea at it: a Dormouse was sitting between them, fast asleep, and the other two were using it as a cushion, resting their elbows on it, and talking over its head. `Very uncomfortable for the Dormouse,' thought Alice; `only, as it's asleep, I suppose it doesn't mind.'

The table was a large one, but the three were all crowded together at one corner of it: `No room! No room!' they cried out when they saw Alice coming. `There's plenty of room!' said Alice indignantly, and she sat down in a large arm-chair at one end of the table.

Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

For the second time, Zee and friends gathered for a sort of gothic lolita tea party, complete with costumes from Alice in Wonderland, tea, and photos of all the madness.

General notes:

  • It was really sunny outside, which makes for a nice picnic, but for really sharp shadows, something that complicates portraiture. Did my best to work around it, though I was dumb and didn't work with a fill-flash; live and learn...
  • The dreamy theme means I'll likely abuse soft focus for some shots. My bad...

Final thoughts - I need to use fill flash and a reflector more. Still, things turned out well, if a little shadowy. I suppose this is likely the last such outing under this theme, but it was a fun one. Until another time, another hunk of literature, and another photo session.
